Grammy-winner Jim “Kimo” West, top Hawaiian “slack key” guitarist, & award-winning multi-instrumentalist, producer & genre buster David Vito Gregoli pay homage to Windham Hill Records. "Exciting freshness...richly textured..gorgeous in every way" (New Age Music Notes). Innovative & eclectic approach to fingerstyle guitar.
Vito: I’ve been wanting to work w Jim for years. He’s such a creative, sensitive and immaculate player/composer. To be able to share the creative experience with him has been such a delight, he’s such a gentle soul. Most of these songs were started by one of us and finished by the other. Generally Jim played the main guitar and I did bass and overdubs, though we switched roles on certain songs.
My approach to co-producing this was to make it as little like his previous releases so we’re offering something new to our listeners. I think we at least achieved that.
Special guests: MB Gordy of Opium Moon on world percussion and Joss Jaffe on tabla.
Featuring Acoustic guitars, Soprano guitar, lap steel, sitar, tabla, world percussion, 12 string guitar, Tricordia, charango, Irish Bouzouki, fretless bass, mandolin.
